This painting was started back when I was just out of college and was unfinished for a long time.... I finally finished it. The color is much more subtle in the photograph. I am hoping to make more paintings with this layering, transparency theme and on a smaller scale. This painting is 32"x42". More on this idea later....

Flashback from Winter to Autumn

Autumn seemed like it was just yesterday... I was taking photos of the foliage and then moments later the leaves were falling... gone. The holidays were a whirlwind and at some point during the transition of seasons I decided to bite the bullet and pursue a new and fascinating hobby. The bees will arrive in the second week of May. I'm sure the time will fly by while I frantically try to fill my head with bee knowledge that I hope to pick up from books and the internet. I'm certain it won't compare to what the experience itself will teach me. The man I am getting the bees from tells me that beekeeping is all about overcoming fear and apprehension. Isn't that what life is all about too?

second photo= future hive location- we have some brush clearing to do before spring arrives...

I'm new to this...
New Year's Resolutions: (the same every year) are to be more productive, consistent and organized--- not sure how starting a blog will help, but I figure the whole process may provide an outlet for some new creativity and aspiration (that I hope to obtain amongst all the bushwa and excuses I have that prevent both) So far the year is off to an optimistic start.
--- Here's to stick-to-itiveness and moxie. ~Moxie--- how apropos... if only I had some on hand to toast with. ~'Ring out the old, ring in the new...'~
